About the 2016 NC Wine Competition
This year’s competition included 480 entries from 57 commercial wineries and 35 amateur wine producers. The judging panel consisted of 17 Sommeliers, Certified Wine Judges, Research Professionals, and Wine Industry representatives. The event was hosted by the NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services.
“Dessert wines are one of the more complex processes of winemaking,” says JW Ray, Owner and Winemaker at JOLO Winery & Vineyards. “We are especially proud of our 2015 Happy Endings Double Gold medal and the three additional gold medals we received. We hope to add even more medals to our expanding trophy case in 2017.”
With the exception of JOLO’s 2015 Pilot Fog entry, all other award winners are available for purchase at the winery or online by visiting the JOLO Shop.
