JOLO WINERY & VINEYARDS WINS 3 MEDALS IN ASHEVILLE

July 10, 2017 Pilot Mountain, NCJOLO Winery & Vineyards is pleased to announce that three of its wines earned Gold Medals in the French Broad Vigneron evaluation from the 2017 Asheville Wine & Food Festival. The award winners are as follows:
2016 Pilot Fog 2015 JOLOTAGE 2016 Crimson Creek
"We were the only winery from the Yadkin Valley to receive three gold medals in this competition and we have some phenomenal wineries and winemakers here," says JW Ray, winemaker and owner of JOLO Winery & Vineyards. "Our team is so proud of our 2016 vintage wines and the other Yadkin Valley wineries winning gold. JOLO is striving to set a new standard in wine & hospitality in the region and to garner the world wide attention and acclaim that the Yadkin Valley AVA deserves," The Asheville Wine & Food Festival wine competition is conducted in a blind format with judges only knowing the wine they are drinking but not the producer. Judging is scored using the American Wine Society form which is quite similar to the Davis Card.  Each wine is judged by two judging teams. If there is major disparity between the two results a third team is created and the wine will be judged a third time. In its ninth year, the Asheville Wine & Food Festival serves up the chance to try great wines, beers, spirits, and meet and sample all the fresh, homemade, farm-to-table goodness Asheville and the surrounding region offers. Information on the festival can be found by clicking here. At the present time, all of JOLO's Asheville Wine & Food Festival Asheville Food award winners are available for purchase at the winery or online by visiting the JOLO Shop. JOLO Winery & Vineyards is located in the Yadkin Valley Agricultural Viniculture Association (AVA).  It is open to the public for tastings, tours and dining and can be reserved for indoor or outdoor special events.
