JOLO Winery & Vineyards’ New Wine Releases Win Gold Medals in San Diego

JOLO WINERY & VINEYARDS' NEW WINE RELEASES WIN MEDALS IN SAN DIEGO
Pilot Mountain, NC-February 1, 2016
JOLO Winery & Vineyards won three gold medals at the 2016 International Winemaker Challenge Wine Competition in San Diego, California that took place January 16th and 17th.
  • JOLO's 2014 Pilot Fog offering was released in the fall of 2015 and has already won five medals and is 100% estate grown Cynthiana.
  • This is the second medal won by JOLO's 2015 Golden Hallows blended white wine offering that was hand bottled in the fall of 2015.
  • The 2015 JOLO Pink will be released to the public this weekend and is made from 100% estate grown Chambourcin.
"I am particularly proud of these gold medals because two of these three wines are 100% from the soil of JOLO," says JOLO Winery & Vineyards founder and winemaker JW Ray.  "We are trying with each vintage to express more and more of the unique and accommodating terroir of the JOLO microclimate here in the Yadkin Valley. Each of these award winners illustrates the amazing promise of our vineyards which are primarily organically farmed and each wine hand crafted and bottled.  These wines are going to get even better with age and we anticipate selling out all of these offerings by the end of the year if not before." In its seventh year, the Winemaker Challenge International Wine Competition judges sample, rate and award medals to select wine offerings within a diverse range of style categories with over 800 wines submitted from around the world. The competition is open to wineries and winemakers across the globe.
JOLO Winery & Vineyards is located at 219 JOLO Winery Lane in Pilot Mountain. Tasting Lodge hours are Thursday thru Saturday 10:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Sundays from noon until 5:00 p.m. For more details about the winery, call (336) 614-0030, email [email protected] or visit www.jolovineyards.com.
